Join us for our BoomerangBagsyyc "Sewcial" and Village Brewery Tour. We are having the coolest Sewing-Bee ever and you are invited to participate. Boomerang Bags is a social initiative started in Australia and has, in a very short time-frame, gone global.
We are the BoomerangBagsYYC chapter.
Boomerang Bags works to reduce the use of plastic bags by engaging local communities in the making of Boomerang Bags YYC– community made using recycled materials, Boomerang Bags YYC provide a free, fun, sustainable alternative to plastic bags.
Our Motto "Make Two, Give One" By getting involved, you are participating in an international movement that celebrates a local grassroots initiative, community building and sustainability. By attending August 11th you also get to have a tour of Village Brewery, and taste some of it's finest blends. *No Minors at this event What to bring: You, (no sewing experience necessary, there's lots of other things to do), scissors or cutter, if you have a portable sewing machine, the more the merrier, we will have ironing boards, irons, thread, and a fun stamp for the pockets. There will be Village Brewery Tours throughout the evening. Material Donation If you have any material that you no longer have a need for we would be happy to take it off your hands. We accept banners, fabric end of rolls, linens, and curtains. Your trash is our treasure! Use the map above to locate a community near you and get in touch.
